We're excited to be looking for a Supervisor, Accounting to join our rapidly growing team in Pittsfield, MA. Reporting to our Controller, Finance Department, you will assist in a variety of duties and key general accounting functions in addition to being responsible for supervising accounting specialists and providing support to other colleagues in the Finance Department. The position will be a collaborator, with the professional ability to ensure accuracy in all financial and accounting operations, guide and instruct, and work effectively both in a team as well as independently throughout the day. They will exercise good judgement and objectivity, serving as a champion for both staff and leadership.The perfect candidate for this role will be someone with experience leading a successful team and proven general accounting, and analytical skills. How will you support the team?Responsible for supervising all aspects of General Accounting functions areas including GL, Payroll, A/R, A/P, and Inventory.Supervise staff and provide guidance for compliance with process and reporting.Ability to coach others and to instill a sense of ownership to empower team members towards greater results.Develops and evolves accounting policies and procedures that improve efficiency.Reconcile subsidiary ledgers and prepare supporting account schedules as needed for periodic financial close(s).Responsible for proper timing and application of revenue recognition rules.Responsible for reviewing period account reconciliations and other documents.Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required.Supports budget and forecasting activities.Collaborates with Directors and Department Managers to support department goals and objectives.We're Looking for someone with...Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required, Master's degree preferred.Minimum of 5 years in a similar role required. Must possess proven experience with PC, Excel, MS Word and Financial ERP systems Strong business acumen, analytical and critical thinking skills Strong or expert Excel skills specifically: pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and queries.Good organizational skills, detail-oriented, and an appropriate sense of urgency.Capable analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong communication, collaboration and leadership skills.The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job.
