Salary: $75,000 - $105,000 per year A bit about us: Based in the Albany area, we are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our dynamic team in the Construction industry. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, from residential builds to large-scale commercial developments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating and scheduling, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering high-quality work. Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs. 2. Review and interpret project plans and specifications to determine the scope of work and required contents of the estimate. 3. Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors. 4. Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers and contractors to ensure competitive pricing. 5. Prepare and present cost reports and budget forecasts to management. 6. Work closely with project managers and other team members to ensure estimates are accurate and comprehensive. 7. Use advanced computer software to prepare estimates and schedules. 8. Participate in bid and proposal meetings, providing detailed explanations of cost estimates. 9. Continually monitor industry trends and pricing to keep company's estimating database up-to-date and accurate. 10. Collaborate with project teams to follow-up on discrepancies between estimated and actual costs. Qualifications: 1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating and scheduling. 2. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is preferred. 3. Proficient in construction estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite. 4. Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and legal requirements. 5. Excellent analytical and mathematical skills. 6. Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines. 7. Strong communication and negotiation skills. 8. Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications. 9. Proven track record of preparing accurate estimates and schedules. 10. Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or similar certification is a plus. 11. A team player with a commitment to delivering high-quality work on time and within budget.
