(Lactation Consultant / Charge RN) - Certification: International
Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC/BCLC) — minimum 1 year
experience; equivalent certifications not accepted - Lactation
Experience: Minimum 2,500 hours as a breastfeeding/lactation
consultant (required) - Clinical Experience: Inpatient lactation
program experience required; prenatal and postpartum
education/consultation/teaching experience required - License:
Active Massachusetts license in your discipline (RN, OT, PT, SLP,
or Pharmacist) - BLS: American Heart Association BLS (required) -
EMR: Meditech Expanse experience strongly preferred -
Transportation: Must have your own vehicle for the assignment -
Residency: Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the
facility - Agency Requirement: Massachusetts Temporary Nursing
Service Agency License (Nursing Pool) must be included with
submission Application Documents (Submit with Application) -
Current certifications in hand (IBCLC, BLS, state license) -
Complete work history and current skills checklist
(lactation-focused) - One supervisory signed reference from the
past 2 years - All requested time-off (RTO) included at submission
(maximum 5 days) Key Responsibilities (Charge RN & Lactation
Program Coordinator) - Provide expert lactation assessment,
treatment, and consultation for patients with advanced lactation
support needs in both inpatient and outpatient settings
(breastfeeding support, latch evaluation, complex lactation care) -
Develop, communicate, and coordinate interdisciplinary lactation
plans of care with the perinatal care team to support
patient-centered goals - Deliver prenatal and postpartum
breastfeeding education, counseling, and teaching to patients,
families, and staff (community and outpatient lactation education)
- Document assessments, care plans, interventions, and outcomes
accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR) -
Support quality improvement, patient safety, and patient experience
initiatives related to lactation services and program metrics -
Provide Charge RN leadership oversight and program coordination for
optimal lactation management and day-to-day operations on the Labor
