Job Description:
Albany Medical Center, a leading healthcare institution renowned
for its commitment to innovative medical practices and quality
patient care, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Clinical Nurse II
for our Emergency Department (ED) Observation Unit. This role is
vital in providing top-tier nursing care and monitoring patients in
the observation unit, which serves as a critical step-down from the
ED or a transitionary space for patients requiring close monitoring
before either discharge or further hospital admission. As part of
our dynamic nursing team, you will play an integral role in
implementing our mission of excellence in education, research, and
patient care. Provide direct nursing care in a high-acuity ED
observation setting. Monitor patient conditions continuously and
respond with appropriate interventions. Support diagnostic
procedures and collaborate with the healthcare team to facilitate
integrated approaches to patient care. Educate patients and their
families on care and post-hospitalization procedures. Maintain
accurate patient records and prepare reports on patients' status.
Administer medications appropriately and monitor responses. Adhere
to hospital standards and regulatory requirements. Strong clinical
skills with the ability to react decisively in emergency scenarios.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in
handling medical equipment and software relevant to patient care.
Capability to work effectively both independently and as part of a
multidisciplinary team. Medical Insurance Registered Nurse (RN)
licensed in the state of New York. BLS/ACLS Certification highly
recommended.
