Job Description:
MRI Technologist Under supervision of a radiologist and
direction department leadership, competently performs imaging on a
1.5 T magnetic resonance imaging scanner. Responsible for scanning
and preparing images for review per protocols in MRI. Must have the
ability to recognize cross-sectional anatomy, perform MRI's and
inject contrast media where applicable. Responsible for providing
service excellence and complying with hospital policies and
procedures. Uses the RIS/PACS and HIS for proper recording of
patient exams and dissemination of patient results. Minimum
Education * High School Diploma or equivalent * Completed education
requirements to become Certified in MRI. Minimum Work Experience *
Recent, up to one year, hospital related experience * Digital
Imaging and post processing PACS experience Required
Licenses/Certifications * MRI certified by ARRT (ARMRIT or CAMRT)*
* BLS Certification through American Heart Association. * Must
obtain 24 ECE credits, in a two-year period, for re-certification
and licensure. * 2 MRI Safety Credits annually *or acquire within
first year of employment. Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
* Knowledge and ability to provide care based on physical and
psychosocial development and safety issues related to patients of
all age groups, including infant, child, adolescent, adult and
geriatric. * Strong communication skills to effectively relay
information both up and down the chain of command. * Ability to
plan, organize, set goals and objectives for review and evaluation.
* Knowledge of state and federal health safety laws and TJC
Standards. * Ability to recognize cross-sectional anatomy. *
Ability to establish access to veins for purpose of giving IV
contrast. * Knowledge of basic medical equipment (i.e. O2 Tank,
pulse oximeter, EKG machines, etc.). * Demonstrated moderate
knowledge of basic computer skills. Pay Range = $38.91 - $56.68
