This is an open and continuous standing register announcement which
will be used to fill Primary Care (PACT) Physician positions at any
VA Central Western Massachusetts Healthcare system location, on any
schedule or appointment type to include a"float" location. The

The PACT Physician will care for Veterans with compassion and
quality to maximize achievement of health goals and improve quality
of life. The incumbent will be and is responsible for providing
initial evaluation and follow-up visits to a panel of assigned
patients. Incumbent uses physician order entry for all
prescriptions, laboratory and radiology orders, consult requests
and notes in the CPRS program. Review of laboratory, radiology,
procedure and consultation reports and communication of abnormal
results to patients and ensure appropriate coding of all outpatient
encounters. Work in a team atmosphere delivering primary care to
patients. The candidate must be qualified to provide Women's Health
services in addition to comprehensive care to a panel of adult
patients, from young adult to elderly.
The physician will provide care to optimize patient health, work
seamlessly with other health care team members and support VA
patient satisfaction initiatives. The physician will be expected to
provide medical care services and evaluation of Veterans with
compassion and will provide education and counseling of Veterans
and families regarding preventative care, medical conditions,
treatment, and drugs.
Work Schedule: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Mon - Fri. Scheduled to be back
up for the on-call Medical Officer of the Day.
On call only required if MOD is not available. Night call, weekend
shifts, and holidays may be required periodically.

Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP): Authorized
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program
(EDRP), a student loan reimbursement program within VHA. If
selected for this position, you are encouraged to apply for this
award program and must meet specific individual eligibility
criteria in accordance with VHA Handbook 1021. Employees must apply
for EDRP within four (4) months of appointment. Final award amount
and program start date is determined after review of a complete
EDRP application and supporting documentation by the VHA Education
Loan Repayment Services team. Participation in EDRP is contingent
on the availability of EDRP funding and is not guaranteed.Basic
- United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed
when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance
with VA Policy.
- Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting
from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The
degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by
the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course
of study was completed.
- Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or
surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United
States, or in the District of Columbia.
- Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved
by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core
specialty training program leading to eligibility for board
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
