You log into the ERP/MRP dashboard, scan overnight orders, and translate customer demand into an executable plan. Inventory positions, open WIP, and supplier commits guide your first round of decisions. You weigh capacity on each work center, choose the most efficient routing, and set priorities to keep lead times tight. By late morning you’re partnering with Customer Service on delivery expectations, reviewing material availability, and building contingency plans for any flagged shortages. When internal capacity is tight, you coordinate with approved third-party vendors, release work to the right partner, and set checkpoints to confirm quality and timelines. Afternoon brings data. You refine schedules, balance workloads to minimize backlogs, and validate plan accuracy in the ERP. Excel models help you spot trends and recommend improvements. Before you sign off, you track outsourced orders, update stakeholders, and lock in the next day’s production rhythm. Core responsibilities Review incoming customer orders and assign optimal production methods based on inventory, capacity, and delivery requirements. Monitor material availability; identify risks and recommend viable alternatives or schedule adjustments. Build and coordinate production schedules to balance workloads and reduce backlogs. Collaborate with Customer Service, Operations, and Supply Chain to meet delivery commitments. Determine when to outsource work; coordinate with approved third-party vendors and track progress to ensure quality and timelines. Maintain accurate scheduling and planning data within ERP/MRP systems (Epicor experience is a plus). Analyze scheduling performance and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency. What you bring 5 years in production scheduling, manufacturing planning, or supply chain operations. Background in manufacturing or customized production preferred. Strong ERP/MRP proficiency; Epicor familiarity is a plus. Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical aptitude. Clear communicator capable of prioritizing and managing competing needs. Experience coordinating with external vendors or contract manufacturers preferred. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field preferred.
