Tik Tok . Job Description The Multispecifics Engineering group at
AbbVie is seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated scientist to
join a dynamic team supporting Discovery Biotherapeutics and lead a
team focused on T-cell engagers. This position will impact projects
through engineering, production, and characterization of
multispecific biopharmaceutical products. The ideal candidate
should have extensive experience with biologics and multispecifics
production platforms, analytical characterization, and a proven
track record implementing multispecific engineering and production
strategies to advance early- and late-stage discovery programs. The
ideal candidate will also have people and project management
experience. The applicant should be an enthusiastic, creative
scientist who will make tangible contributions to the pipeline. Key
Responsibilities: Responsible for design, engineering, and
production of multispecific biologics, primarily to support
Oncology projects Serve as a Multispecifics Engineering
representative in cross-functional teams with Oncology, Discovery
Biotherapeutics, and Development Sciences, providing project
updates, analysis, and advice; recognized expert in multispecific
design and production Serve as the Biologics Lead on projects to
coordinate activities and transitions from hit generation through
candidate nomination Supervise a team of scientists, evaluate team
performance, and be accountable for the effective performance of
the team Identify and solve technical problems independently,
conceive and implement innovative research ideas Ensure consistency
and quality of technical reports Present original work internally
across departments and at internal and external scientific
conferences; may author or co-author peer-reviewed scientific
papers or patents Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: BS, MS, or
PhD in Biochemistry, Biochemical engineering or related discipline
with typically 14 (BS), 12 (MS), or 6 (PhD) years of experiencein
bi- and trispecific engineering or T-cell engagers Experience with
protein, biologics, fragments, or multispecifics (e.g. bispecifics,
trispecifics, bispecific protein fusions) design, expression and
purification Experience managing direct reports and providing
performance evaluations and development opportunities Excellent
organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects
simultaneously Team player with the ability to operate in a
fast-paced multi-disciplinary environment Candidate must be a
goal-oriented team player with excellent verbal and written
communication skills and strong can-do attitude Preferred
Qualifications: Experience with sequence analysis tools (Vector
NTI, Geneious, Genedata) Experience with mass spectrometry analysis
and software (Protein Metrics) Experience with CRO coordination for
production Expert understanding of current state of protein
expression/separation/analytical technologies Ability to explore
and develop new approaches to further advance innovative
purification and screening technologies for multispecifics
Extensive knowledge of biologic pipeline progression from
exploratory through candidate nomination with program management
experience preferred Bi- and tri-specific design to support T-cell
redirection and Oncology projects Recognized in the scientific
community through a sustained record of peer-reviewed publications
